Bugatti Rimac, part of the Rimac Group, brings together two forces that have redefined the automotive world. By combining Rimac’s cutting-edge electric performance and innovation with Bugatti’s 110+ year legacy of crafting iconic hypercars, we are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in automotive engineering.

Our team is at the core of this, we work with passion, aim for excellence, and take ownership of what we do. We grow together, pioneer solutions, and deliver vehicles that set new standards.

As an HV Battery Mechanical System Expert, you will be responsible for the structural concept development, mechanical design and integration of HV Battery Systems across all Bugatti Rimac programs
Working across Battery Engineering, Vehicle Integration, Powertrain, Manufacturing, Homologation and Aftersales teams, you will define and develop battery mechanical concepts from feasibility and packaging studies through detailed design and series production, ensuring safe, lightweight, manufacturable and vehicle-integrated structural solutions that meet performance and durability targets.

You will love this role if you enjoy turning structural concepts into robust mechanical designs, solving complex packaging and integration challenges, and working hands-on with cross-functional teams to bring high-performance battery systems into production.

Where you’ll make an impact

  • Develop HV Battery structural concepts, layouts and packaging solutions from early feasibility to detailed design.
  • Own the mechanical system integration of the battery enclosure, covers, cooling interfaces, mounting points and protection structures.
  • Define, deploy and maintain mechanical requirements for structure, stiffness, crash, sealing, durability, serviceability and manufacturability.
  • Drive cross-functional integration with Battery Engineering, Vehicle Integration, Powertrain, CAE, Manufacturing, Homologation and suppliers.
  • Lead 2D/3D design release activities, component maturity tracking and supplier alignment to ensure robust technical delivery.
  • Support structural CAE/FEA, packaging reviews, tolerance analysis and design optimization to meet vehicle-level targets.
  • Coordinate prototype build, validation, homologation, End of Line and aftersales inputs for mechanical battery components.
  • Lead DFMEA and IFMEA activities for mechanical systems, supporting issue analysis, mitigation definition and implementation.
  • Ensure mechanical solutions are robust for production, assembly, quality and service requirements, while sharing knowledge across the wider battery team.

What are your core components

  • 8+ years of experience in automotive mechanical systems, ideally on HV battery structures, enclosures or vehicle structural components.
  • Strong knowledge of structural concept development, mechanical packaging, design integration and production-oriented engineering.
  • Experience delivering mechanical systems from early concept phase through design release, validation and series production.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional activities across design, CAE, testing, manufacturing, quality and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of automotive mechanical requirements, vehicle packaging, crash, durability, sealing, corrosion protection and homologation constraints.
  • Experience with CAD/PLM tools such as CATIA/3DX, 2D/3D release, BOM management and component maturity tracking.
  • Good understanding of materials, joining technologies, tolerances, DFM/DFA and lightweight structural design.
  • Familiarity with DFMEA, issue resolution, root-cause analysis and validation planning for mechanical components.
  • Relevant written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical topics clearly.
  • Hands-on mindset, strong ownership and a constant improvement attitude.
