We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Sealing Engineer to join our growing team at Bugatti-Rimac, a cutting-edge hypercar manufacturer. As we continue to push the boundaries of performance and design, we recognize the critical role sealing systems play in achieving excellence in vehicle quality and customer satisfaction.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering advanced sealing solutions for our high-performance vehicles. You will manage the complete lifecycle of sealing system integration, from concept to production, while ensuring performance, durability, and aesthetics meet the highest standards. Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of sealing systems, including weatherstrips, bulb seals, pinch weld seals, and secondary seals
- Collaborate closely with exterior, closures, and glazing teams to ensure seamless integration of sealing systems into the vehicle
- Own the sealing system performance, including water-tightness, wind noise reduction, and NVH targets
- Manage and Define the DVP(Design Verification Plan) and DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) activities for sealing components
- Work with Tier 1 suppliers to ensure optimal design-for-manufacture, material selection, and tooling feasibility
- Drive the development of sealing component specifications and release detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for production
- Oversee prototype and pre-production builds to assess fit and finish, including water, wind noise, and thermal testing
- Lead root cause analysis for sealing-related issues and drive corrective actions during vehicle validation
- Support the launch of production systems, ensuring all sealing systems meet performance and quality standards
- Manage the timeline and cost for sealing systems, ensuring timely delivery of components within budget
- Provide technical support to manufacturing teams to address issues related to sealing system production
- Conduct regular design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall vehicle objectives
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for sealing and materials
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of sealing technologies, trends, and innovations in the automotive industry
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of sealing design processes and methodologies
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong expertise in automotive sealing systems, including materials and manufacturing techniques
- Proficient in 3D CAD software (e.g., Catia V6, NX, or equivalent) for designing and analysing sealing components
- Experience in managing design and development of sealing systems from concept to production
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- In-depth understanding of NVH, water management, and wind noise reduction techniques
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and external suppliers
- Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality, production-ready components
- Experience with DVP, DFMEA, and other engineering validation processes
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of global automotive sealing suppliers and the tooling supply chain
