As a Body Structure Engineer, reporting to the Body Structures Manager, you will take ownership in designing and developing Body Structures in metallics or composites for new and existing production vehicles. 

 

Working across Engineering Functions and Programmes, Attributes Teams, Quality Team, and Manufacturing Team, and External Suppliers, you will Lead and follow the whole development of the assigned components and systems, from Concept, through Desing and Development, up to Validation and Start of Production.

Where you’ll make an impact 

  • Design and Development of BodyStructure components and Systems 

  • Engineer to product targets for weight, cost, and performance attributes while coordinating across teams 

  • Create and develop CAD models for system designs, ensuring accurate integration into CAE Simulation and DMU releasing 

  • Inform system development from architecture stages, collaborating with concept and packaging teams to ensure the vehicle integration 

  • Manage the DVP of components - Oversee and participate in testing processes to validate and optimize structural designs. 

  • Engage in simultaneous engineering and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of structural systems 

  • Support benchmarking activities to ensure the competitiveness of designed structures and products 

  • Drive concept and innovation in technology development within the field of body structures, while supporting new processes and methodologies 

 

What are your core components 

  • 5+ years of experience in a Body Structures environment preferred – however, all applicants are welcome 

  • Structural composites experience is a major advantage 

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines and goals, with clear communication and prioritization skills 

  • Knowledge of automotive processes – Product Plan, Quality Maturation processes, Releasing, etc. 

  • CATIA V6/3DX competence required to a high standard 

  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written 

  • Highly proficient and skilled in technical organization, supplier management, and project planning 

  • Proven track record of successful structural delivery in metallics and composites

Salary range: €37 500 – €5 7500gross per year (depending on experience)
