We are seeking a talented and motivated Mechatronics Engineer to join our innovative team at Bugatti-Rimac, a leading hypercar manufacturer. As part of our Body Complete team, you will play a critical role in managing the development and integration of electromechanical systems in partnership with our suppliers and Tier 1 partners. These systems, including wipers, washers, closures latches, window regulators, and struts, are essential to vehicle functionality, performance, and user experience.

In this role, you will work closely with our suppliers to ensure the successful design, development, and optimization of mechatronic systems that meet our stringent requirements. You will be a key partner in driving innovation and high-quality outcomes, ensuring that our vehicle systems are built to the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability.

 

Tasks & Responsibilities:

 

Lead the collaboration with suppliers and Tier 1 partners to design, develop, and integrate mechatronic systems, including wipers, washers, closures latches, window regulators, and struts. 

Act as the primary point of contact for suppliers during the development phase, ensuring alignment on project goals, timelines, and technical requirements. 

Manage supplier relationships to ensure seamless integration of mechatronic components into the overall vehicle system. 

Guide suppliers through system design and development, ensuring that their solutions meet functional, safety, and quality requirements. 

Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software teams to ensure successful integration of components developed by suppliers. 

Conduct system simulations, modeling, and analysis to optimize performance and reliability in collaboration with supplier teams. 

Develop detailed technical specifications, design documents, and test plans in close coordination with suppliers. 

Review supplier-proposed solutions, providing feedback and driving improvements to meet performance and cost targets. 

Oversee the validation of systems developed by suppliers, including functional, durability, and environmental testing. 

Troubleshoot issues related to system integration, performance, and supplier deliverables. 

Work with suppliers to source and qualify components, ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards. 

Support the creation and release of 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for mechatronic components, working with suppliers to ensure accuracy and manufacturability. 

Monitor the progress of supplier-led development, ensuring milestones are met according to project timelines. 

Ensure supplier adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements for mechatronic systems. 

Provide continuous feedback and support to suppliers to drive continuous improvement in development processes. 

Participate in DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) and DVP (Design Verification Plan) activities alongside suppliers.

 

Skills and Competencies:

 

Strong experience in managing supplier relationships and working closely with suppliers and Tier 1 partners on system development

In-depth understanding of mechatronic systems, including electromechanical components, actuators, sensors, and control systems

Proven ability to guide suppliers through the entire development cycle, from design to testing and integration

Excellent project management skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple development partners and manage project timelines effectively

Proficient in 3D CAD software (e.g., Catia V6, NX, or equivalent) for reviewing designs and integrating mechatronic components

Strong communication and negotiation skills to align supplier teams with project goals and ensure timely resolution of technical issues

Experience with system modeling, simulation, and optimization (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) in collaboration with suppliers

Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems integration, especially in supplier-managed development environments

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to address complex system-level integration challenges 

Knowledge of automotive industry standards, regulations, and best practices for mechatronic systems

Ability to work in a high-performance, fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities while maintaining strong supplier relationships
