Get in the driver's seat
As a Body Systems Engineer, reporting to the Body Systems Manager, you will play a critical role in managing the development and integration of electromechanical systems in partnership with our suppliers and engineering partners.
These systems include exterior lighting, wiper and washer, glazing, window regulator, convertible roofs, hardtop roofs, exterior mirrors, closures latches, closures actuators and sealings are essential to vehicle functionality, performance, and user experience.
In this role, you will work closely with our suppliers to ensure the successful design, development, and optimization of mechatronic systems that meet our stringent requirements. You will Lead and follow the whole development of the assigned components and systems, from Concept, through Design and Development, up to Validation and Start of Production.

Where you’ll make an impact
- Lead the collaboration with suppliers and Tier 1 partners to design, develop, and integrate mechatronic systems. All applicants with experience in one or several of the above body systems shall be considered for the role.
- Act as the primary point of contact for suppliers during the programme phases, ensuring alignment of project goals, timelines, and technical requirements.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure seamless integration of mechatronic components into the overall vehicle system, ensuring that their solutions meet attribute targets, functional, safety, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software teams to ensure successful integration of components developed by suppliers.
- Develop detailed technical specifications, design documents, and test plans in close coordination with suppliers.
- Oversee the validation of systems developed by suppliers, including functional, durability, and environmental testing.
- Troubleshoot issues related to system integration, performance, and supplier deliverables.
- Work with suppliers to source and qualify components, ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
- Support the creation and release of 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for mechatronic components, working with suppliers to ensure accuracy and manufacturability.
- Participating in DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) and DVP (Design Verification Plan) activities alongside suppliers.
What are your core components
- Strong experience in managing supplier relationships and working closely with suppliers and Tier 1 partners on system development.
- In-depth understanding of mechatronic systems, including electromechanical components, actuators, sensors, and control systems.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple development partners and manage project timelines effectively.
- Proficient in 3D CAD software (e.g., Catia V6, NX, or equivalent) for reviewing designs and integrating mechatronic components.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to align supplier teams with project goals and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems integration, especially in supplier-managed development environments.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to address complex system-level integration challenges.
- Knowledge of automotive industry standards, regulatory requirements and best practices for mechatronic systems.
- Ability to work in a high-performance, fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Salary range: €37 500 – €62 500 gross per year (depending on experience)
