Bugatti Rimac, part of the Rimac Group, brings together two forces that have redefined the automotive world. By combining Rimac’s cutting-edge electric performance and innovation with Bugatti’s 110+ year legacy of crafting iconic hypercars, we are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in automotive engineering.

Our team is at the core of this, we work with passion, aim for excellence, and take ownership of what we do. We grow together, pioneer solutions, and deliver vehicles that set new standards.

As an ECU Mechanical Engineer, you will work as part of Embedded Hardware Development team on designing high-performance custom ECUs for future Bugatti and Rimac cars.

Your main task will be to design and validate ECU enclosures.

Where you’ll make an impact

  • Working as a part of larger group of engineering teams on development of automotive ECUs
  • Reviewing and implementing requirements into the ECU enclosure design
  • Supporting embedded hardware engineers with defining size and shape of PCBs
  • Designing enclosures for ECUs using 3D CAD tools, including IP69K enclosures, with focus on cost, lightweight, reliable thermal properties, robustness, easy assembly and more
  • Defining materials, production methods and coatings
  • Defining and executing relevant tests, environmental and mechanical, as per automotive standards
  • Requesting and/or conducting relevant simulations or calculations – thermal, vibrations, impact, life tests etc.
  • Writing test reports and analyzing the data
  • Fixing the design to satisfy requirements and validation standards
  • Defining labels and other non-electrical features of the ECU design
  • Writing relevant ECU documentation (e.g. Assembly Manual)
  • Establishing and maintaining relevant processes
  • Defining general documentation templates
  • Writing relevant guidelines and procedures

What are your core components

  • Three or more years of post-faculty experience with 3D CAD design
  • Basic experience with relevant standards with ambition to dive-in deeper, learn more and apply findings in practice
  • Understanding of automotive environment and design to function, design to cost and design to scale
  • Experience with 3DX environment is a plus
  • Basic understanding of the general automotive electrical architecture and the typical electrical devices inside of a car is desirable
  • Experience with the mechanical integration of PCBs in the enclosures and the ability to understand mechanical and thermal requirements
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, young and energetic team with other hardware, software, mechanical and system engineers
  • Proactive and result oriented attitude and will to help and teach others
  • Ability to react fast and create solutions
