Bugatti Rimac, part of the Rimac Group, brings together two forces that have redefined the automotive world. By combining Rimac’s cutting-edge electric performance and innovation with Bugatti’s 110+ year legacy of crafting iconic hypercars, we are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in automotive engineering.
Our team is at the core of this, we work with passion, aim for excellence, and take ownership of what we do. We grow together, pioneer solutions, and deliver vehicles that set new standards.
Get in the driver's seat
As a PWT Calibration Engineer you will develop and calibrate ECU engine control strategies, with specific focus on: combustion control (fuel injection, ignition timing, lambda control); air path management (boost control, EGR, throttle); charge and torque
Working across powertrain and emission teams you will own the technical quality of calibration deliverables for assigned functions or subsystems , ensure achievement of key targets: emissions compliance (regulatory standards),fuel efficiency and CO₂, performance and drivability compliance.
You will love this role if you love challenges, innovation, and want to make a mark with your technical expertise!
Where you’ll make an impact
- Develop and calibrate ECU engine control strategies
- Optimize multi-dimensional engine maps to achieve targets for: performance (torque, power delivery);emissions compliance (CO, NOx, PN);fuel efficiency (BSFC, CO₂).
- Plan and execute Design Verification Plan (DVP) activities across: engine dynamometer (steady-state and transient); powertrain/emissions test benches; vehicle testing (road, altitude, climatic conditions)
- Calibrate key operating modes and conditions: cold start and warm-up strategies transient behavior (tip-in/tip-out, torque shaping during gear shifts), knock control and combustion stability
- Perform advanced data analysis and signal processing using tools such as INCA, CANape, MDA, MATLAB, or Python Apply Design of Experiments (DoE) and model-based calibration (MBC) methodologies to improve calibration efficiency and robustness Support ECU software integration and advanced troubleshooting (e.g., misfire, knock, emission spikes) Monitor calibration KPIs and produce structured reports based on pass/fail technical criteria
What are your core components
- Advanced knowledge of internal combustion engine principles
- Familiarity with calibration tools (e.g., INCA, Concerto) is a plus
- Advanced understanding of emissions and fuel consumption concepts
- Experience or exposure to test bench or vehicle testing environments is a plus
