Bugatti Rimac, part of the Rimac Group, brings together two forces that have redefined the automotive world. By combining Rimac’s cutting-edge electric performance and innovation with Bugatti’s 110+ year legacy of crafting iconic hypercars, we are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in automotive engineering.

Our team is at the core of this, we work with passion, aim for excellence, and take ownership of what we do. We grow together, pioneer solutions, and deliver vehicles that set new standards.

As a Powertrain Performance & Emissions Simulation Engineer, you will develop, validate, and maintain accurate 1D simulation models for powertrain performance, combustion, and emissions, including engine-out and aftertreatment systems.

Working across powertrain, vehicle, controls, and testing teams, you will ensure robust predictive capability and strong correlation between simulation and experimental results.

You will love this role if you enjoy combining simulation and testing, working on combustion and emissions challenges, and influencing powertrain performance and compliance through data-driven modeling.

Where you’ll make an impact

  • Develop and maintain 1D models for ICE performance, combustion and emissions

  • Build fast-running and real-time capable models to support vehicle performance development and XiL applications

  • Continuously improve modeling of combustion, air path, fuel systems and aftertreatment

  • Integrate powertrain performance and emissions models into full vehicle simulation environments

  • Use GTSUITE and MATLAB/Simulink for model development, calibration and analysis

  • Support testing activities, including emissions instrumentation and measurement strategies

  • Correlate simulation results with experimental data and improve predictive accuracy

  • Prepare and present technical reports on performance, fuel consumption, and emissions compliance

What are your core components

  • 5–10 years of experience in powertrain performance, combustion and emissions simulation

  • Proven expertise with GTSUITE and MATLAB/Simulink

  • Strong understanding of internal combustion engine fundamentals and calibration

  • Deep knowledge of engineout emissions (NOx, CO, HC, PM/PN) and aftertreatment systems (TWC, GPF)

  • Experience with realtime models and model reduction techniques

  • Understanding of vehicle integration aspects, including driveline and thermal systems

  • Strong analytical, problemsolving and communication skills

  • Experience working in crossfunctional environments and mentoring junior engineers
