Bugatti Rimac, part of the Rimac Group, brings together two forces that have redefined the automotive world. By combining Rimac’s cutting-edge electric performance and innovation with Bugatti’s 110+ year legacy of crafting iconic hypercars, we are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in automotive engineering.

Our team is at the core of this, we work with passion, aim for excellence, and take ownership of what we do. We grow together, pioneer solutions, and deliver vehicles that set new standards.

Get in the driver's seat

As a Powertrain Performance & MiL Simulation Engineer, you will perform longitudinal vehicle simulations across all development stages, from concept definition to vehicle validation. You will use MiL simulations to define powertrain system requirements and optimize vehicle performance, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

Working across powertrain, vehicle, controls and testing teams, you will develop and maintain robust MATLAB/Simulink simulation models and ensure strong correlation between simulation predictions and vehicle behaviour.

You will love this role if you enjoy system-level vehicle simulation, solving complex performance and efficiency challenges, and influencing powertrain development through data-driven engineering decisions.

Where you’ll make an impact

  • Perform longitudinal vehicle simulations across all development stages, from concept definition to vehicle validation
  • Use MiL simulations to define powertrain system requirements and support development decisions
  • Assess and optimize powertrain performance within the vehicle framework
  • Evaluate fuel consumption and CO2 emissions under driving cycles and real-world scenarios
  • Use MATLAB/Simulink for model development, integration and analysis
  • Support definition and integration of control strategies within the MiL framework
  • Analyze powertrain component operating points and maintain correlation with test data
  • Prepare and present technical reports on performance, fuel consumption, energy management etc, highlighting trade-offs and engineering recommendations

What are your core components

  • 2-5 years of experience in vehicle, powertrain or virtual engineering
  • Strong expertise with MATLAB/Simulink and Model-in-the-Loop simulation
  • Strong understanding of longitudinal vehicle dynamics and powertrain systems
  • Knowledge of internal combustion engines, transmissions and electrified powertrains
  • Experience with vehicle performance simulation and real-time capable models
  • Understanding of fuel/energy consumption and CO2 emissions mechanisms at vehicle level
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments and supporting junior engineers
