We are seeking an innovative and dynamic Powertrain Software Development Engineer to join our growing team at Bugatti Rimac, a leading hypercar company. As we continue to advance our powertrain technologies, we recognize the importance of robust software development and control systems to drive our success.

In this crucial role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing powertrain software requirements. You will create detailed MATLAB Simulink models and support the Software Architecture Manager in defining and allocating powertrain software requirements. Additionally, you will validate and debug software, maintain feature models, and develop new control prototypes. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about automotive control systems, with the expertise and leadership skills to build high-impact solutions in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

 

TASK AND RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Familiarize with the existing Vehicle Control Unit with focus on Powertrain software and its architecture
  • Decompose powertrain software requirements for implementation
  • Proposal/creation of MATLAB Simulink models to describe vehicle features and define the base logic and implementation of software components (developed internally or by suppliers)
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams in defining software solutions (e.g., memory management, code optimization)
  • Develop new control prototypes (SIMULINK) to be provided as requirements to external teams
  • Support Software Architecture Manager for powertrain software requirement definition and function allocation
  • Support and supervise the software implementation department
  • Execute validation and debug activities, including conducting validation activities in vehicles on proving grounds
  • Review and maintain models behind each feature
  • Define the interface of several software components (developed internally or by suppliers)
  • Create MATLAB/Excel tools for simulation or analysis

 

SKILL AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Good knowledge of powertrain principles and main actuators or controls (e.g., Hybrid Torque Structure and component coordination, Engine and Transmission control, Drivability)
  • Experience as a controls or software engineer within the Automotive/Motorsport industry
  • Proficiency in MATLAB Simulink, MATLAB GUI, and tools creation
  • Knowledge of software development tools (e.g., ETAS Inca, Vector CANape)
  • Understanding of embedded control systems
  • Experience with mainstream automotive ECU hardware and software development following ISO26262 or IEC61508 processes
  • Good knowledge of requirements capture tools such as Jira/Jama
  • Ability to work in a team and identify/solve complex engineering problems
