Responsibilities

• Define and manage vehicle hardpoints, with a focus on exterior trims, body panels, and related components
• Coordinate closely with Design and Engineering teams to ensure surface releases meet performance, manufacturability, and styling targets
• Support and manage virtual release processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of technical data
• Conduct benchmarking of competitor vehicles, materials, and technologies to identify improvement opportunities
• Perform feasibility studies, trade-off analyses, and risk assessments from both engineering and business perspectives
• Contribute to concept development decisions by providing data-driven insights and technical evaluations
• Support development of prototypes, simulations, and validation activities for new concepts
• Track, report, and resolve concept-related and style-related issues across stakeholders
• Prepare and deliver specifications and documentation for hardpoint releases
• Collaborate with technical leads and experts to continuously improve concept engineering processes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field
• Strong understanding of automotive exterior systems, materials, manufacturing processes, and design integration
• Experience working in cross-functional environments (Design, Engineering, Product Development)
• Knowledge of vehicle development cycles, release processes, and virtual validation methods
• Familiarity with regulatory and legal requirements impacting exterior components
• Proven ability to conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical evaluations
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and structured problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced development environment
• Proficiency with relevant engineering/design tools (e.g., CAD, PLM systems) is a plus
