Bugatti Rimac, part of the Rimac Group, brings together two forces that have redefined the automotive world. By combining Rimac’s cutting-edge electric performance and innovation with Bugatti’s 110+ year legacy of crafting iconic hypercars, we are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in automotive engineering.

Our team is at the core of this, we work with passion, aim for excellence, and take ownership of what we do. We grow together, pioneer solutions, and deliver vehicles that set new standards.

Get in the driver's seat

As a Vehicle Power Architect, you will analyze, define, simulate, model and validate the vehicle electrical power architecture, ensuring that every electrical feature can be supported across all relevant vehicle operating conditions.
Working across the Vehicle Technology and Engineering teams, you will build and maintain the vehicle-level electrical power model, translate feature behavior into representative electrical load profiles, and ensure that power generation, energy storage, conversion, distribution and protection are correctly sized and balanced at vehicle level.

You will take individual feature requirements — from cooling systems and chassis actuators to pumps, lighting, comfort functions and control units — and understand how they interact when operating together. Through simulation, measurement and vehicle data correlation, you will ensure that architectural decisions are based on representative vehicle-level behavior rather than isolated component power relevant values.

You will love this role if you enjoy turning real vehicle behavior into engineering models, understanding where every watt goes, challenging assumptions with data, and using simulations to make architecture decisions before problems reach the vehicle.

Where you’ll make an impact

  • Ownership of the vehicle power and energy architecture, covering 12V, 48V, and HV power interfaces and ensuring coherent vehicle-level power behavior.

  • Develop and maintain vehicle-level electrical power models in MATLAB/Simulink, representing electrical sources, batteries, DCDC converters, major loads/consumers, operating states, driving and vehicle load profiles

  • Create representative electrical load profiles for vehicle features, considering nominal consumption, peak current, transient behaviors, duty-cycles, operation modes and duration as well as thermal and environmental dependencies.

  • Define vehicle operating scenarios for electrical sizing, including the vehicle start-up, pre-cranking and cranking, idle state, driving, high-speed driving, track mode, thermal and cooling relevant demands, shutdown, charging and low power mode degraded states.

  • Own the complete vehicle electrical load balance, ensuring the generation, conversion and storage energy capabilities across the normal, peak and safe-state / degraded conditions.

  • Perform the power architecture sizing and trade-off / feasibility studies, 12V vs 48V implementation, DCDC, starter/generator and battery sizing, alternative power-distribution concepts, …

  • Collaborate with several cross-functional departments including, System Engineering, Vehicle Controls, Product development, Wiring harness and eDMU, Validation & Testing.

  • Support vehicle testing and troubleshooting of power-related issues, correlating simulation results with measurement data and identifying system-level root causes

  • Contribute to future E/E architecture development, including 12V/48V migrations, zonal architectures, smart loads and power/energy management strategies.

What are your core components

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics, mechatronics, automotive engineering or a related technical field.

  • Strong experience in automotive electrical power distribution systems, electrical architecture, energy management, system modelling and vehicle-level electrical integration.

  • Strong practical experience with MATLAB and Simulink, including development of dynamic system models, simulation scenarios and post-processing of engineering data.

  • Ability to translate vehicle features and operating scenarios into representative simulation inputs and electrical requirements.

  • Ability to interpret system requirements, electrical schematics, component specifications and ECU interface documentation and translate them into architecture-level solutions.

  • Strong understanding of 12 V / 48 V electrical systems, batteries, DC/DC converters, alternators where applicable, e-power distribution, grounding, protection concepts and electrical interfaces.

  • Strong understanding of electrical load characterization / profiling, including peak, continuous, transient, in-rush, duty-cycle and time-dependent power consumption.

  • Good understanding of common automotive interfaces and communication technologies such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, discrete I/O, analogue signals, high-side/low-side drivers and H-bridge-controlled loads.

  • Experience with measurement data analysis from prototype or production vehicles and correlation of physical measurements with simulation models.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the confidence to work across multiple engineering disciplines and challenge solutions constructively.

  • High technical ownership and curiosity with the confidence to challenge assumptions using data and engineering evidence.
