1. Tasks:

• Report to Structures Lead Engineer and take ownership of designing and developing structural frames and crash structures for new and existing production vehicles.​

• Invent and Develop CAD Models​

• Support in the design and integration of new features or new components ​

• Creation and development of component plans that meets project milestones ​

• Working with Attribute teams, Quality Teams and Suppliers to deliver industry leading structures. 

• Presenting to Chief Engineer and Programme Manager on complex topics and key decisions​

• Support for new processes and methodologies. ​

• Attending Component Suppliers, Test Centers and Molsheim Assembly Studio 

2. Responsibilites:

• CAD Design and Development:​ Create and Develop CAD models for system designs, ensuring accurate integration into CAE Simulation and DMU releasing.​

• Architecture Development:​ Inform system development from architecture stages, collaborating with concept and packaging teams to define new vehicle layouts in the pre-programme phase.​

• Attribute Management:​ Engineer to product targets for weight, cost, and performance attributes and simultaneously engineer across their teams. ​

• Support benchmarking activities to ensure the competitiveness of the designed structures and product. ​

• Testing:​ Oversee and participate in testing processes to validate and optimize structural designs.​

• Cross-Functional Collaboration:​ Engage in simultaneous engineering and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of structural systems.​

• Project Management:​ Demonstrate strong project management skills, including creating timing plans, critical path analysis, and scenario planning.​

• Technology Development:​ Drive concept and innovation in technology development within the field of body structures.

3. Required skills and competencies:

• Fluent English in spoken and written form​

• Skilled in organization, supplier management, and project planning​

• Ability to work effectively (even under pressure) to meet deadlines and goals with clear communication skills and Prioritisation. ​

• Knowledge on automotive processes – Product Plan, Quality Maturation processes, Releasing etc. ​

• CATIA V6/3DX competent to a high standard.
