Job Purpose:

The candidate will be responsible for the on-time delivery and Body Team support of all Body System Mechatronic applications across all the Body Areas and Components and across all Bugatti Rimac programs leading the connection from the Body mechanics systems and the EE department and being the reference for the Body Features definition, maintenance and delivery.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To define and own main Body System Mechatronic components and their integration into vehicle from early concept phase to industrialization and production; that includes:
    • Define and manage the Features for all Body Systems and Areas
    • Lead the definition and development connection in connection with EE dep. – Electrical & Electronic and SW requirements based on Component STD and Specifications components across the body Areas
    • Support the system DVP definition and system Development and Validation for all the Body mechatronic area.  
  • Lead a X-functional team of engineers and external partners to deliver all Body System Mechatronic components on time into production according to target and commodity plans supporting all the body Areas
  • Maintain and support DVP plans ensuring corrective actions are implemented
  • Main reference figure for Body System Mechatronic components, and resolution of technical issues in connection with EE dep. and main Body component responsible and relative suppliers.
  • Manage all Body System Mechatronic components cascading required actions across the team
  • Engage with main external suppliers and manage Body System Mechatronic and ensuring program milestones are met, including evaluation of DVP robustness in alignment with STD and specifications
  • Develop and ensure cross-functionality with other R&D departments (principally EE) to achieve vehicle requirements in the areas of responsibility
  • Engage with the product development process to understand the impact of design/engineering decisions
  • Evaluate competitor benchmark information to improve concept definition in early project phase
  • Establish regular design reviews with cross functional teams
  • Support DFMEA reviews into Body areas and with cross functional teams
  • Collaborative definition of methodology and release of standards related to durability and reliability with analysis team
  • Be a team player, train and coach all the team members and share the knowledge throughout all Body System Mechatronic X-functional Team


Qualification & Experience:

  • Previous proved experience in same or similar position within an automotive or automotive components supplier on Body System Mechatronic, preferably on Sport (Supercar and Hypercar) and low volume car
  • Engineering Degree in appropriate discipline or equivalent
  • Experience on all relevant vehicle legislation and certification requirements for related automotive components and systems
  • Experience of delivering Body System Mechatronic components from early design stage to series production. At least with two complete projects developed from the concept phase to the final start up
  • In-depth Body System Mechatronic knowledge applied on all Body components, DFMEA, Features, DVP, Benchmarking, Innovation related the field
  • Leading and developing Staff
  • Working across functional teams effectively to deliver viable problem resolution
