1. Key duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the development progress and reporting for all Hybrid concept deliverables
  • Manage and support suppliers of the powertrain control units and the calibration activity on defined projects
  • Regularly Interact with the homologation department for the OBD legislation and standards
  • Present reports of all findings from Test bed, rig, Vehicle testing and environmental testing of the vehicle, and present these to all levels up to director technical meetings
  • Engage with main external suppliers and manage costs and timings, and ensuring program milestones are met, including evaluation of RFQ responses to influence management decisions
  • Report to the head of Calibration and Controls the development status, presenting the critical paths and recursions.
  • Lead and Manage OBD activity within the calibration team on defined vehicle programs
  • Responsible for reviewing and releasing documentations for certifications
  • OBD Attribute leader, participating actively in the OBD architecture design
  • Lead suppliers and external partners to deliver OBD SW/Calibration Work packages according to target cost, functionality and quality
  • Assimilate and distribute knowledge within the Calibration team and the other impacted teams.
  • Initiate and prepare modifications to the calibration on future model year actions
  • Interact and support the design department selecting components & solutions for the best practice of the OBD requirement fulfilment

 

2. Qualification and Competences:

 

  • Engineering Master degree in appropriate discipline or equivalent titles.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience on Automotive Tier 1 or OEM in powertrain calibration and application 
  • Direct experience of On Board Diagnostic and application of new technologies on Conventional/Hybrid/BEV vehicle architecture
  • Several years of professional experience in Fault Memory and OBD Communication 
  • Several years of professional experience in the supplier business in the automotive industry
  • Expert knowledge of Regulations for On-board Diagnostics (OBD) applied to Hybrid Powertrain electronic systems on US American, Chinese or European market
  • Experience on the major automotive diagnostic protocols (KWP200, UDS, ODX, OBD)
  • Proficient User of the major data development  tools:  ETAS/Vector/RA-Consulting/AVL Creta -Concerto/Matlab

 

3. Ideal candidate:

 

  • Excellent team player and communicator, able to work effectively with cross functional teams.
  • Ability to organize multiple technical inputs, summarize and present to the top management.
  • Available for abroad trips onsite to the suppliers or proving ground for testing session (20% of the time)
  • Strong problem-solving skills, along with an ability to manage a varied workload, to tight deadlines.
  • On-hands approach in the daily activities.
  • Ability to quickly understand existing solutions and their requirement
  • Available in sharing the knowledge with junior members and the colleagues in general
  • Open to different approaches and striving for constant improvement
  • Relevant written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work at a fast pace and with a high degree of accuracy and flexibility
