The candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, testing and final release of EOBD strategy on all future Bugatti-Rimac vehicles.

 

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • To interact with homologation department and define requirements for EOBD in accordance with legislation and standards; responsible for reviewing and releasing documentations for certifications
  • To interact with electrical department and define functionality, malfunction and failure detection targets and requirements for EOBD; manage EOBD overall control system and implementation into ECU
  • Participating actively in the whole vehicle EOBD architectural design
  • Releasing and documenting Bugatti Rimac Powertrain control software according to the EOBD standards in the different markets / countries.
  • Interact with product definition team to ensure program milestones are met
  • Lead suppliers and external partners to deliver EOBD strategy and functionality according to target cost, functionality and quality
  • Ownership of EOBD topic and related items, including the definition of Emission Targets
  • Maintain and support de-bug activities for current and future hybrid vehicles EOBD functionality, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
  • Manage and support physical testing on engine dyno, powertrain rig and vehicle
  • Engage with main external suppliers and manage costs and timings, and ensuring program milestones are met, including evaluation of RFQ responses to influence management decisions
  • Develop and ensure cross-functionality with other R&D departments to define EOBD related systems and achieving vehicle requirements
  • Engage with the product development process to understand the impact of design/engineering decisions
  • Evaluate competitor benchmark information to improve concept definition in early project phase, including DFMEA analysis
  • Establish regular design reviews with cross functional teams
  • Support Functional Safety and Cyber Security, Intellectual properties and patents within R&D team
  • Collaborative definition of methodology and release of standards related to durability and reliability with analysis team
  • Be a team player and share the knowledge throughout the whole powertrain team

 

Qualification & Experience:

  • Previous experience within an automotive or automotive components supplier on emissions and EOBD related topic (min 5 years)
  • Engineering Degree in appropriate discipline or equivalent
  • Deep knowledge of UDS protocol applied to Hybrid Powertrain electronics systems
  • Experience on all relevant related vehicle legislation and certification requirements for automotive
  • Experience of delivering hybrid powertrain components from early design stage to series production
  • Proven experience in tracking and planning of technical subjects, tooling processes and variable/investment costs
  • In-depth vehicle powertrain knowledge and electrified components
  • Working across functional teams effectively to deliver viable problem resolution
  • Experience on data analysis software
  • Expert user of Matlab/Simulink
  • Fluent English
