1. Tasks and responsibilities:  


  • Performance Engineering of vehicle Control Systems and delivery of attribute targets against Quality, Cost and Timing objectives to meet the expectations of all target stakeholders. 

  • Control Systems optimization in both functional development and calibration capacities, with particular emphasis and ownership of the latter for the vehicle-level Control Systems. 

  • Specification & execution of the Design Verification Plans (DVP) of vehicle Control Systems and Application Software (ASW) with ownership of the DVP at vehicle level. 

  • Verifying and Validating Control Systems at vehicle and component level, overviewing the integration into vehicles from HiL-rigs to prototype demonstrators and to series production. 

  • Providing expert Vehicle Performance insights to support the Control Systems Roadmap and support the understanding and mapping of the Control Systems influence on key DNA attributes.  

  • Implementation of Software development processes according to ISO26262 standards and support of associated documentation and validation needs. 

  • Development of streamlined testing processes and data post-processing methodologies.  

  • Supporting the Target Cascade and Engineering Specification process for vehicle Control Systems. 


  • Set and manage objectives & targets for the Control Systems Performance team. 

  • Develop the team’s capability while supporting the team members’ well-being and progression. 

  • Build successful relations within the Vehicle Engineering Department with particular emphasis on Chassis and Vehicle Integration, EE & SW and Powertrain teams. 

  • Liaise with Tier 1 suppliers for SW and HW of Control Systems, academic research partners, testing venues and facilities. 

  • Adhere to investment and piece costs targets in line with the business cycle plan. 

  • Ensure adherence to all legislative and safety targets and performances requirements as well as compliance with all the policies and procedures issued by and on behalf of BUGATTI-RIMAC 


2. Requirements: 

Essential Experience 

  • Excellent understanding of Vehicle Dynamics in both the passive and active platform sense. 

  • Experience in Handling, Ride and Steering attributes assessment and development.  

  • Experience as a controls or SW engineer within the Automotive/Motorsport industry. 

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of embedded control systems. 

  • Experience of mainstream automotive ECU hardware and software development following ISO26262 or IEC61508 processes and hands-on experience with accordingly structured testing. 

  • Expert user of Software development tools e.g., Vector CANape. 

  • Experience using simulation and analysis techniques for vehicle and component(s). 

  • Strong time management, accuracy, diligence, ability to balance multiple tasks. 

Preferred Experience 

  • Understanding of Automotive Cybersecurity and ISO/SAE21434. 

  • Understanding of requirements capture tools such as Polarion/Doors. 

  • Experience of FMEA process and solid understanding of all Functional Safety implications. 

  • Systems-Engineering thinking and comprehension of interdependencies, experience with relevant tools, e.g., SysML, and multidisciplinary simulation tools understanding. 

  • Experience with model-based development environments allowing for capturing E/E and embedded systems development implications, e.g., PREEVISION, RTaW-Pegase, would be desirable. 


3. Education/Qualifications:

  • Extensive industry experience, ideally both OEM and Tier 1 

  • Full EU driving license, ideally Proving Ground B permit 

  • Engineering Degree in appropriate discipline 

  • Proficiency is using data acquisition and post-processing tools 

  • Competence in MATLAB/Simulink and/or other Control System Design and Rapid Prototyping tools 

  • Worldwide travel may be required to suppliers or test facilities
