We are looking for an engineer who can design, maintain, explain and document complex vehicle control systems from a high-level perspective.

As a Systems Engineer, you will develop and document features which deliver the desired user experience or customer requirements. This will involve changing existing feature specifications to fit the needs of the customer or writing them from scratch for yet-to-be developed features. Communication will be key to success, as you will need to align with other features to define a cohesive vehicle feature set.

Your work will determine how the control system behaves and interacts with other parts of the vehicle. The documents you produce will deliver the understanding necessary for system implementation, as well as supporting Functional Safety activities according to ISO26262.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Understanding customer desires, as they relate to control systems
  • Writing feature descriptions, use cases and functional requirements
  • Defining and explaining the interactions between systems
  • Writing documentation and diagrams
  • Communicating and coordinating with colleagues of different technical backgrounds (mechanical, electrical, software, control engineers)

 

Requirements

 

  • Real-world experience with implementing control systems
  • Experience writing and understanding high-level system requirements
  • Experience eliciting high-level requirements from stakeholders with varying levels of technical proficiency
  • Experience further developing requirements with highly technical engineering staff
  • Experience with model-based design in Simulink and Stateflow
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Extremely systematic, clear and precise writing style

 

Considered as an advantage

 

  • Basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics
  • Basic knowledge of electric powertrain components
  • Experience with the ISO26262 standard and safety process
  • Experience with a requirements management system (e.g. Jama)
