Rimac Technology are rapidly innovating both technology and business models to increase the pace of de-carbonisation across multiple industries. Rimac Technology have created an exciting new business unit to commercialise a highly promising new technology across both the mobility and energy sectors.

This new business unit is seeking exceptional electronic engineers to support the design and development of our next-generation battery system and power conversion units, which will be used for multiple products across the energy and mobility sectors.

As a key member of the team, the individual will be responsible for the full design lifecycle of electronics within the next-generation system, with activities ranging from the initial specification and simulation of a new circuit design, to debugging and commissioning complete systems. 

 

 

 

1.Responsibilities

Specific job responsibilities will depend upon the active project and may include but are not limited to:

  • Concept development for a diverse set of products spanning a range of different markets
  • Design and simulation of power electronic circuits
  • Adapting existing designs to drive cost reduction or efficiency improvements.
  • Testing and deployment of electronics and electronic systems
  • Fault investigation, containment and rectification
  • Work closely with across departments to define appropriate hardware and software platforms for implementing control solutions.
  • Supporting the development of projects through the V model
  • Implementation of technology, design, demonstrators, models, and validation strategies
  • This role will also include working as part of a dynamic team to help develop and execute our vision, mission & values and concretizing our objective to do measurable social and environmental good.

 

2. Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical, Electronic or allied discipline.
  • 3 or more years of experience in a relevant industry or in related research.
  • Altium schematic capture and layout (or similar).
  • Hands-on development and testing of PCBs.
  • Innovative and creative approach to problem solving.
  • Experience of circuit simulation in SPICE and/or Simscape.
  • Good understanding of electronics design for manufacture.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prepare and present effectively to audiences from different backgrounds.

 

3.Considered as an advantage

  • Experience in working with high voltage systems.
  • Design and test of power electronics using WBG semiconductors.
  • Experience working in or leading cross-functional teams.
  • Structuring & Developing requirements capture tools (JIRA, DOORS, or similar)
  • Appreciation of batteries and battery electronics
  • Good understanding of embedded programming languages
  • Designing to safety standards such as ISO26262
