Battery Systems Engineer has the exciting job of developing battery systems and subsystems for all these high-performance vehicles.

The candidate for this role must have a genuine passion for engineering the best electric vehicles in the world and the role requires vast experience in mechanical engineering.

The Battery Systems Engineering team collaborates closely with other departments and works on perhaps the most exciting automotive projects in existence today. No surprise there, it has become the most appealing and respected role and position in the whole automotive industry.

The battery system plays numerous important roles in the car, from providing the initial power needed to start the engines to being a heart of the car. As a main component it is a product of our biggest focus and our main product when facing customers and fulfilling their needs.

Our team not only develops the battery packs for our fantastic Rimac HyperCars, but we work and provide numerous global automotive manufacturers with our battery solutions.

Working close with great customers and partners like Aston Martin, Koenigsegg, Porsche, Hyundai, Jaguar, Pinifarina, Magna and many more well-known and respected car manufacturers, it gives us the opportunity to work on most exciting vehicle projects one could imagine. 

 

1. Responsibilities:

  • CAD modeling of the battery pack components
  • Managing subsystems and component level design requirements through collaboration with customers, the Homologation department, the Vehicle department and other Electrical Engineering related departments
  • Components validation plans and test methods
  • Developing cooling systems in battery packs
  • Electrical components layout – co-work with electrical engineers
  • Technical drawings and production documentation
  • Providing support to assembly and testing teams during product operations
  • Providing support to ongoing product and process improvement

2. Main tasks:

  • Battery pack systems and subsystems research and development
  • CAD modeling in collaboration with other team members
  • Design, develop and release component and system specifications
  • Supervising the testing of finished products and systems

3. Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of CAD software (preferably Catia or Solidworks)
  • Experience in any one (or more) of the following production processes: injection molding (plastics), metal stamping, sheet metal forming, die castings, vacuum casting
  • Experience with product and process validation
  • Good knowledge of Lithium-based battery cells
  • Self-organised and goal-oriented
  • Very good understanding of mechanical structures
  • Good understanding of thermal analysis
  • Very good knowledge of English (written and spoken) is essential
  • Communicative teamwork player
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in the relevant field of study
  • At least 5 years of professional automotive experience

4. Considered as an advantage:
