At Rimac Energy we are currently seeking a Mechanical Integration Engineer to work closely with a team of multi-disciplinary experts to develop battery and power electronics concepts for new programs. A key aspect of the role will be working on the development of enclosures for utility scale energy storage systems. The main responsibilities are creating design concepts and initial 3D models and then working closely with suppliers and the Mechanical development team to bring the solutions into fruition. This will further extend to managing and delivering to system and components level requirements, optimisation of design through iteration with our simulation team, and managing test programs to validate the technology. An important further aspect to the role is to contribute as a systems engineer, where you have responsibilities to deliver aspects such as DFMEA, DVP, requirements documentation, and BOM management.

Responsibilities

 

The specific job responsibilities will depend upon the active project and may include but are not limited to:

  • Working on the development of the enclosures for energy storage systems for utility scale markets.
  • Developing design solutions from a clean sheet – including initial 3D models
  • Working closely with the Mechanical Development engineers to further develop and produce the components
  • Component verification plans and testing methods
  • Technical communication with suppliers and other internal stakeholders
  • Exploring novel battery and power electronics solutions
  • Lead initiatives to do environmental and social good, and integrate this into actionable projects, company policies and culture
  • Visit national and international trade fairs to present, observe market trends and represent our company

 

Requirements

 

  • Masters in Engineering (Mechanical or electrical).
  • 2 years+ of experience in EV or energy industry, and/or other related engineering backgrounds
  • You are passionate about electrification and de-carbonization
  • You seek to improve our future by bringing cutting-the-edge technology to market
  • You have prior knowledge of CAD software (preferably CATIA)
  • You are a strong communicator, both verbally and in written form
  • You can lead, inspire, and motivate a team exploring new business ventures
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally, as required.

 

Considered as an advantage

 

  • You have prior experience of ESS systems
  • You have prior experience of sealing technologies and/or sheet metal part design
  • You continuously create ideas and seek opportunities beyond the obvious
  • You make things happen with pragmatism and a can-do attitude
  • You have experience with system testing and verification
  • You are familiar with the latest battery technology and capable of technical innovation
  • You are proficient in the use of Excel and PowerPoint, and capable of crafting convincing analyses and representative presentations
