About us
We are a technology powerhouse that designs, engineers, and manufactures the world's most advanced automotive technology and hypercars. Bytes to bolts, Rimac is where everything happens.
Our teams develop and produce both hardware and software solutions for our flagship, record-breaking hypercar, the Nevera, as well as for other automotive manufacturers’ vehicles. Working on technology solutions for partners such as Porsche, Hyundai, Aston Martin, Koenigsegg, Automobili Pininfarina, and others, gives Rimac a unique position of a technology leader in the high-performance electric vehicle industry. The stakes are high.
As a fast-moving company, we nurture a high-performing culture. If you are interested in joining, you must be prepared for relentless learning, adapting, and embracing new technologies. We expect an easy-going person, but also self-driven, entrepreneurial, and highly independent in their work, that will enjoy rising to the challenge and have fun pushing the limits of technology.
Our expectations are high. And we can only achieve our goals with the dedication and collaboration of our exceptional team. Our ambition is to deliver and go the extra mile. We need to expand our already industry-leading team, find the best people, and lead the charge.
Rimac Energy is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Integration Engineer to join our team.
Role Purpose:
The Prototype Integration Engineer is a hands-on, electrically biased engineer who leads and contributes to the design, build, commissioning, and testing of low-volume prototype power electronics and energy systems at Rimac Energy.
The role operates at the intersection of electrical engineering, mechanical integration, and practical build, supporting the development of inverters, grid-connected systems, and associated energy storage hardware across early prototype, validation, and pre-production phases.
The successful candidate will be comfortable building and integrating real hardware, designing and assembling test rigs, commissioning systems safely, diagnosing faults, and providing clear technical feedback into the wider engineering organisation. While battery assembly experience is advantageous, the primary focus of the role is on inverter systems, grid interfaces, and electrical system integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Prototype Build & Integration
- Build, assemble, and integrate low-volume prototype systems, including inverter-based and grid-connected energy systems
- Carry out mechanical and electrical assembly of prototype hardware, enclosures, sub-assemblies, and wiring looms
- Support battery module and pack integration where required, including mechanical assembly, electrical connections, and instrumentation
- Translate schematics, CAD models, and design intent into fully functional prototype hardware
Test Rig Design & Commissioning
- Design, plan, and build bespoke test rigs to support functional, performance, and validation testing
- Commission electrical systems safely, including power-up sequences, interlocks, and protection systems
- Configure and connect test equipment such as power supplies, loads, measurement equipment, and data acquisition systems
- Support inverter testing, and system-level validation activities
Testing, Fault Finding & Debug
- Execute functional, electrical, thermal, and integration testing on prototype systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and system-level faults
- Work methodically through issues, proposing and implementing practical solutions
- Capture test results, observations, and build feedback to inform design improvements
Collaboration & Engineering Feedback
- Work closely with electrical, mechanical, firmware, and systems engineers to resolve integration challenges
- Provide hands-on feedback into design for manufacture, assembly, serviceability, and testability
- Support early development builds through to validation and pre-production activities
- Contribute to prototype build schedules and development planning
Process, Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and maintain build instructions, test procedures, and standard operating procedures
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards, electrical safety practices, and risk assessments
- Maintain a clean, organised, and professional prototype build and test environment
- Continuously improve prototype build efficiency, robustness, and repeatability
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Background
- Electrically biased engineer with strong practical experience in real hardware build and integration
- Competent in mechanical assembly, including fastening, tolerancing, enclosure build, and hands-on fabrication
- Confident working with schematics, wiring diagrams, and basic mechanical drawings
Practical Experience
- Proven experience building and commissioning prototype or low-volume systems
- Experience with inverters, power conversion systems, or grid-connected equipment
- Experience designing and assembling test rigs or experimental setups
- Strong fault-finding and debugging capability across electrical and mechanical domains
- Comfortable using hand tools, electrical tools, and standard workshop equipment
- Battery assembly experience (cell, module, or pack level) is advantageous but not essential
- Exposure to high-voltage or high-power systems is beneficial
Qualifications
- Apprenticeship and/or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Equivalent practical, hands-on industry experience will be considered
- Evidence of hands-on engineering outside formal employment (hobby projects, vehicle builds, electronics projects, etc.) is strongly valued
What we are like and what we offer
