Rimac Automobili is looking for an engineer to help build the next generation of electric vehicle powertrain control and state estimation systems.

 

As a Power Electronics Engineer – Motor Control, you will design algorithms to control traction inverters and other high-voltage power electronics. Your algorithms will be implemented on custom-built Rimac hardware, and you will have the opportunity to test them on a testbench as well as validate them on a real vehicle.

 

1. Responsibilities

  • Developing control algorithms for electric vehicle powertrains
  • Developing state estimation algorithms for electric vehicle powertrains
  • Performing Model-in-the-Loop testing
  • Using optimization algorithms with test automation to quickly test multiple hypotheses and converge on an optimal solution
  • Defining and overseeing Hardware-in-the-loop and dyno testing
  • Analysis and interpretation of test data
  • Documenting test results and producing technical documentation

 

2. Requirements

  • Experience with Field-Oriented Control of synchronous machines
  • Experience with at least one commercial power electronics simulation package (e.g. Matlab/Simulink)
  • Advanced knowledge of classical and nonlinear control theory
  • Advanced knowledge of linear and nonlinear estimation techniques
  • Familiarity with basic concepts of digital signal processing
  • Good English in writing and speaking

 

3. Optional competencies

  • Model Predictive Control
  • Experience with PLECS
  • Model-based design in Matlab
