About Us
Rimac Energy is a technology company at the forefront of advanced battery energy storage, power conversion, and control systems for demanding, fast-moving energy applications.
We design and build hardware that solves hard problems — from grid-connected inverters and energy storage systems through to high-voltage power distribution and accessory control products used in real-world deployments.
Our teams span mechanical design, electrical engineering, software, controls, compliance, testing, supply chain, and manufacturing. We are fast-moving, technically ambitious, and results-driven. If you join us, you will work on genuinely complex problems alongside engineers who care deeply about what they build.
We expect a lot. We also offer a lot: real ownership, real products, and the chance to contribute to technology that pushes the boundaries of what energy systems can do.
Responsibilities
Design & Development
- Perform component selection and develop schematics and PCB layouts across various system subsystems, including BMS, microcontrollers, DC-DC power supplies, communication interfaces, onboard diagnostics, and related electronics.
- Design hardware in compliance with relevant industrial standards covering EMC, ESD, electrical safety, vibration, environmental conditions, and other applicable requirements.
- Design products with a strong focus on manufacturability, serviceability, reliability, and cost targets.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Mechanical Engineers on PCB integration into enclosures, addressing component placement, electrical routing, thermal constraints, and other system requirements.
- Provide hands-on support to Embedded Software Engineers during hardware bring-up, debugging, and software development activities.
- Collaborate with Integration Engineers to support the integration of developed hardware into the wider system or end application, ensuring a smooth and well-documented hardware handover.
- Support production and assembly teams during prototype manufacturing and early production phases.
Testing & Validation
- Translate system requirements into test plans and procedures; implement and execute tests at in-house facilities and external laboratories, including design verification, incoming inspection, end-of-line, thermal, environmental, and EMC testing.
- Analyze test results, draw technical conclusions, and prepare clear and structured test reports.
- Perform field testing to validate the functionality and reliability of prototypes and final production devices.
- Collaborate closely with testing and validation teams, providing technical support during validation campaigns and certification activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in Electronics design and or testing, such as BMS, SMPS, DCDC, Gate Drivers, Digital Isolators, MCU, communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, RS485), ADC, etc.
- Experience with PCB Design Tools (Altium Designer), simulation tools (LTSpice, TINA, PDN analyzer) etc.
- Experience with the mechanical integration of electronics in the enclosures and the ability to understand mechanical requirements
- Experience of working in development and test laboratories
- Excellent knowledge of English
- Experience with MS Office tools
- Good planning, organization and communication skills
- ICT literacy
Optional:
- Experience of working with HV (up to 1200V)
- Project tracking tools (e.g. Jira)
