About the role

We are looking for an ambitious, commercially driven Head of Sales to lead our global go-to-market for power conversion and energy storage technology. You will define and own the sales strategy across two complementary fronts: licensing and cross-selling our core technology to the world's leading energy storage players and hyperscalers, and selling our own complete BESS systems to commercial and industrial (C&I) customers.

This is a high-impact leadership role with the rare opportunity to build the sales organisation from the ground up. You will inherit a flagship reference - a signed lead contract with one of the largest global BESS players - and use it as a springboard to accelerate our Go-to-Market. You will work hand in hand with engineering, product, marketing, and executive leadership to translate our technology leadership into commercial wins.

This role is based at our Zagreb, Croatia OR Witney, Oxfordshire site, with regular international travel expected.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the global sales function for Rimac’s energy storage business.
  • Build, hire, and develop a high-performing sales organisation from the ground up, spanning business development, key account management, and sales operations.

  • Lead the commercial expansion of our flagship technology agreement with one of the largest global BESS players.

  • Create new technology cross-sell opportunities with global BESS players and hyperscalers, leveraging our core technology IP.

  • Drive direct sales of our complete BESS systems to C&I customers, building a pipeline of recurring, high-margin business.
  • Develop pricing, commercial models, and contracting frameworks for both technology and full system supply.

  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with target customers, partners, and industry stakeholders globally.

  • Represent the company at major industry events, conferences, and customer engagements.

  • Partner with engineering and strategy teams to translate customer requirements into product roadmaps and technology offerings.

  • Establish KPIs, forecasting cadence, and reporting to provide accurate visibility on pipeline, bookings, and revenue to the executive team and board.

  • Ensure compliance with internal commercial policies, approval workflows, and trade requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA or technical (power electronics) postgraduate qualification advantageous.

  • 10+ years of commercial or sales experience in energy storage, power electronics, renewables, or related markets, with a track record of closing multi-million-dollar deals.

  • Demonstrated experience selling complex technology or systems to enterprise customers, ideally in BESS, hyperscaler, utility, or C&I segments.

  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to build, scale, and lead a global sales organisation from the ground up.

  • Strong commercial acumen across technology licensing, complex contract negotiation, and structuring large multi-year deals.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage C-suite and board-level audiences.

  • Strategic mindset paired with hands-on execution and a willingness to operate in a fast-moving, scale-up environment.

  • Proficient with AI tools and ready to apply them to speed up any task.

  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.

Considered as an Advantage

  • Existing network among global BESS OEMs, hyperscalers, IPPs, and C&I players.

  • Experience structuring technology supply, joint development agreements, or strategic partnerships.

  • Understanding of grid services, energy markets, and the regulatory landscape across UK, EU, and US.

  • Experience in early-stage or scale-up environments where the sales function was built from scratch.

  • Familiarity with Incoterms, international shipping, and trade compliance basics.
