Responsibilities

 

  • Developing an efficient and safe assembly process of our new battery products (module and pack)
  • Identifying potential production technology usage or manufacturing restrictions to formulate solutions for the Engineering department (Design for Manufacturing - DFM, Design for Assembly - DfA)
  • Define process requirements in collaboration with multidiscipline engineering team from Manufacturing Engineering and Product Development and Logistics departments
  • Creation of a virtual build environment
  • Creation of all relevant documentation (PFMEA, Work Instructions, Start up Checklist)
  • Creating, managing and updating visual standard operation procedures, manuals and safety documentation of the assembly processes (process flow document, mBoM, Value Stream Mapping, pFMEA, Work Instructions, assembly drawings)
  • Investigating, establishing and implementing requirements for equipment, tooling, and methods of production using the 8D Problem solving process.
  • Creation of technical specification sheets for high volume production equipment and supporting selection of automation system integrators.
  • Communication with equipment suppliers and performing Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)  and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
  • Reporting and tracking non-conformances and deviations from the standard build process, and driving issues to closure
  • Working closely with production, development, quality, logistics and the engineering department on manufacturing issues and improvement areas (Continuous improvement initiatives)
  • Creating instruction materials and supporting training of department members on new processes and tools as implemented for efficiency improvements and lessons learned to be carried over to future projects.

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or similar field of study
  • Experience in automotive industry (preferable)
  • Experience in battery assembly (preferable)
  • Experience in implementing high volume production equipment (preferable)
  • Advantageous: Lean/Six Sigma trainings, DFA certification, GD&T knowledge, Assembly tooling ( Vision systems, DC Tools
  • Advantageous: Use of Issue Management tools
  • Experience in CAD software, preferably CATIA V5 or 3DX
  • Very good knowledge in MS Office
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Great teamwork skills and highly developed communication skills
  • Developed sense of responsibility
  • Strong organization skills and systematic approach to work
  • Ability to define tasks and project timelines and communicate status accurately
  • Strong analysis, problem-solving, process and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to manage time and organize effectively with multiple project
