We are looking for a System Engineer with experience in requirements and architecture for electric powertrains. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of both software and hardware aspects of embedded systems and powertrain components, with an emphasis on power electronics in automotive applications, electric motors, and transmissions.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Requirements Specification: Define and document specific requirements for electric powertrain systems, considering software and hardware components.
  • System Architecture Development: Develop and outline the system architecture for electric powertrain, ensuring integration and alignment with overall vehicle system requirements.
  • ASPICE Compliance: Apply Automotive SPICE knowledge to validate the requirements and architecture processes against the industry standard.
  • Modeling and Simulation Oversight: Supervise the use of modeling tools like Matlab/Simulink for system simulation, ensuring the architecture meets the defined requirements.
  • Control and Automation Concepts: Specify control algorithm requirements, tailored to electric powertrain functionalities.
  • Communication Protocols Specification: Define requirements for automotive communication protocols such as CAN and LIN in the system architecture.
  • Regulatory Alignment: Ensure system requirements and architecture adhere to automotive norms and regulations.
  • Testing and Validation Planning: Collaborate with testing teams to plan system verification and validation, ensuring that requirements are met in both simulation and real hardware platforms.
  • Technical Communication and Documentation: Communicate technical aspects of system requirements and architecture effectively, both in written and verbal forms.

 

Requirements

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Automotive SPICE Knowledge: Strong understanding of Automotive SPICE levels and processes.
  • Embedded Systems Knowledge: Deep knowledge of embedded systems, particularly in control systems for power electronics.
  • Programming Language Experience: Familiarity with programming languages like C, C++, VHDL or Verilog, and Python for context in system specification.
  • Modeling Tools Knowledge: Proficient in using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink for system modeling.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with automotive-specific norms and regulations, such as ISO 26262 and ISO 21434.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent technical writing and presentation skills with attention to detail.

 

Considered as an advantage

 

  • Industry Experience: Prior work experience in the automotive industry, especially in roles focused on electric vehicles, power electronics, or embedded systems for automotive applications.
  • Related Project Involvement: Experience in projects involving system requirements specification and architecture design, such as developing requirements for electric powertrain systems, designing vehicle communication protocols, or working on functional safety aspects according to ISO 26262 and/or ASPICE.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: A history of collaborating with diverse teams, including software development, hardware engineering, and project management, to refine system specifications and architectural designs.
