As a Senior Battery Modelling Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of electrochemical, data-driven based and thermal battery models for a world leading electric hyper car. We expect that results of your work will be used to improve quality of the available battery state estimation algorithms (online and offline) as well as lead to creation of new approaches for more efficient battery operation at high C-rates.




  • Parameterization and validation of data-driven (equivalent circuit) based battery cell, module, and pack models.
  • Develop data analytics tools to analyse and generate data-driven model from data sets from battery systems operating in the field.
  • Implement data-driven based and electrochemical models for extreme battery operating conditions (low temperatures, high C-rates, etc).
  • Develop models of battery cycling / calendar ageing (degradation) with and without cell teardown.
  • Protect your inventions within the company IP team.
  • Maintain a battery modelling documentation within a team to meet code production and company requirements.
  • Will be a strong plus, modeling of a cell, module and pack level heat generation and transfer.




  • Strong fundamental knowledge in the field of electrochemistry of lithium-ion battery cells and cell degradation mechanisms.
  • Strong background in Mathematics, Physics, Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related.
  • Proven 3+ years’ experience in the field or proven 5+ years’ experience in the academic field.
  • Advanced programming and simulation skills (preferably MATLAB & Simulink).
  • Knowledge and experience of usage of the version control tools (git, svn, etc).
  • Design and create test procedures for li-ion battery cell, module, and pack level testing.
  • Excellent communication skills and team-oriented attitude.
  • Comfortable with initiating and taking responsibility for leading new projects within a company and with research institutes.
