As part of our World Class Purchasing organisation, you will be responsible for working in partnership with our Suppliers and our Series Production Teams to ensure the optimisation and smooth running of all Production Facilities.

1. Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of suppliers and commodities to deliver continuous improvement.
• Drive annual cost down programs with your suppliers and commodity portfolio.
• Drive annual supplier rationlisation programs to reduce supply base complexity and deliver improved cost performance.
• Develop and manage long term supplier relationships based on mutual success.
• Continue to assess supplier performance to identify potential risks to production and have in place disaster management plans to manage supply in the event of a distressed suppler event.
• Produce monthly KPI’s to demonstrate commercial and operational improvements.
• Liase with New Product Purchasing and provide past performance data to support or discount current suppliers from future program selection.
• Continue to develop and improve procurement processes and systems based on best in practice.

2. Required skills and competencies:

• Degree level education
• Experience in series production procurement with an automotive OEM, Tier 1 Supplier, or similar manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record of cost and performance improvements
• Working knowledge and proficiency in ERP system and Microsoft Office 
• Internal/external customer focused 
• Able to work independently and manage time effectively
• Results driven 
• Excellent skills in written & spoken English
• Driving license: B category
