Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering support at all phases of test facility build, from concept, through installation, commissioning and productive ramp-up
• Provide electrical engineering support required for system maintenance and upgrades
• Communicate with Test Engineers and interpret test requirements
• Support the generation of electrical requirements documents
• Ensure the optimal running of the facility by supporting Test Engineers
• Work to Standard processes and procedures
• Create/Improve Processes and procedures
• Take ownership of electrical design for battery and powertrain testing infrastructure and assemblies
• Ensure technical feasibility, manufacturability, and performance in design concepts
• Produce electrical schematics and documentation required to produce electrical cabinets.
• Analyse and investigate issues related to the electrical components of both Powertrain and Battery testbeds.
• Writing reports on unwanted electrical events with a focus on root cause and corrective actions
• Educating team members to ensure appropriate competency and familiarity with the electrical components of the system
• Supporting Test System Engineers, with input on how to achieve best results with the electrical components of the system
• Supporting Test Engineers with electrical engineering support required to build efficient tests
• Support the generation of risk assessments with expert electrical knowledge
• Design Safety Concepts with respect to HRA

Requirements

• Electrical Engineering Experience:
  • Specifying bus bars and cable sizes for AC and DC applications
  • Specifying contactors for AC and DC applications
• Designing and building electrical cabinets
• Proficiency in ePLAN software or similar used to create electrical schematics
• Experience in electrical design, preferably in automotive or battery systems
• Experience in various measurement solutions and sensors for current measurement
• Experience with HV and LV systems
• Ability to analyze and optimize designs for efficiency and performance
• Systematic, logical and scientific approach to problem-solving
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• MS Office
• English
