We are looking for an experienced Thermal Systems Engineer who will be a part of the Bugatti Rimac Aero-Thermal Team within the Vehicle Integration department, helping us to improve and broaden our capabilities in virtual and experimental development of various powertrain thermal systems. 

 

The team is cross-functional, working closely with all Research & Development departments, consisting of enthusiastic group of engineers focusing on a high performance and efficient system design, innovative solutions in development of the state-of-the-art vehicles. 

 

Within the role of Thermal Systems Engineer, we are searching for an engineer experienced in numerical and experimental development of the vehicle level powertrain thermal management systems. 

 

Besides the technical knowledge and strong grasp in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer and experience we are looking for a colleague that is proactive and communicative and has a creative yet analytical mindset capable of working in a fast-paced dynamic environment with minimal supervision.

1. Responsibilities:

  • Build, develop and maintain 1D thermal simulation model at full vehicle level (ICE, Hybrid and Electric vehicles)
  • Integrate vehicle sub-systems into a single vehicle 1D model 
  • Couple various 1D and 1D-3D models (simplified CFD model, models built on Python or "C" language or MATLAB scripts)
  • Contribute to and apply improvements of methods and optimization tools to improve system efficiency 
  • Interact with other departments or suppliers to collect input data required for simulation boundaries and model build 
  • Provide suggestions and improvements based on analyzed virtual and experimental data 
  • Write technical documents, prepare presentations and communicate the results to higher leadership 
  • Support and mentor less experienced engineers 

 

2. Requirements: 

  • More than 3 years of experience in automotive powertrain thermal management systems (numerical and experimental) 
  • Good knowledge of Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer 
  • Good knowledge of vehicle (hybrid and electric) powertrain systems 
  • Proven analytical abilities with at least one of the following modeling tools: MATLAB and Simulink, GT-SUITE, DYMOLA 
  • Good level of programming knowledge in relevant 1D tools to build and vary control parameters of electric and combustion powertrain components 
  • Good knowledge of English (written and spoken) 
  • Good communication, reporting and organizational skills 
  • Commit to project plan and deliverables 

 

3. Considered as an advantage:

  • Master’s degree or above in related engineering discipline 
  • Experience in development of high-performance ICE, Electric and Hybrid vehicles 
  • Strong experience in integration and development of AC systems 
  • Applied experience in GT-Suite 
  • Good programming skills and previous experience with C++, MATLAB, Python, Linux 
  • Experience with CAD software 3D Experience/Catia
